  1. Reforming the education system is the need of the hour

People talk to themselves unconsciously. They try to know themselves. And as a result of that small effort to know, their knowledge gradually increases and they become a wise person with intelligence.

Socrates said, ‘Know thyself’. Knowing oneself creates questions. What kind of knowing does Socrates actually mean by knowing oneself? It is a matter of thought.

Statistics show that in our country, more than one crore students are kept sitting on four-legged chairs and tables in educational institutions. A weak system is keeping their potential in cycles for hours. Students are not getting a suitable environment to sustain their creative talents at all. Because the subject standard of the education system of this country is determined by the slogan ‘human resources’. The extent to which the quality of education in which a humble effort is made to transform students into assets is a matter of review. In the pursuit of education, the idea of thinking of oneself as an asset in the minds of students is being destroyed, which is a betrayal of talent development. The matter is that a path has been prepared for him, he will have to walk on that path by force. Just looking at the admission tests of public institutions in the country, the answer to the question arises. The rationality of the explanation and analysis of the word ‘asset’ can be given from various perspectives. However, from whatever perspective it is analyzed, the concept of ‘wealth’ creates a control in the form of human qualities. If it occurs at the stage of acquiring knowledge, then over time it becomes a fundamental problem. Students are not able to practice knowledge according to their inner potential.

Technology has now learned to control humans. Humans have not been able to be controlled by other beliefs for thousands of years. Because since then, humans have been practicing their human qualities. But with the passage of time, the practice of those human qualities is starting to decrease. As a result, the human mind is now becoming subject to technology. That is, technology is gradually taking its place in the human brain.

If understanding could be formed through that, then there would be no need for law in the country, no need for justice, freedom, equality. People could live like humans. The amount of time spent in the world to identify problems, the amount of discussion, has not even been spent on solving them. As a result, it is seen that even though the amount of problems is increasing day by day, there is no trace of a healthy solution. As a result of this global negative trend, the imitation process has been embedded in our minds. Let’s say, Bangladesh follows Germany in the field of education. German students are ahead of Bangladeshi students in terms of creativity and intellectual development. But why? Because the basic environments for providing their education are unique in Germany compared to our country, which despite the high genome value of our students, their students are ahead compared to the students of this country only because of the implementation of a healthy planned system. And the students of this country are passing through a maze for ages. As a result, no matter how much Bangladesh tries to adapt to them in the environment of higher education and research, there remains a demand in it. During primary education of German students, instead of teaching them about child labor, drug concepts, fundamental rights, and practicing algebra formulas and arithmetic for years, they are made to meditate for a specific time every day. They are made to know themselves, and are informed about their responsibilities and duties. As a result, a space is created in their brains and there they feel the responsibility of all people, including their own nation.

To change a country, the people of the country need a spiritual change. Without metaphysical development, people will never be able to sustain their existence along with their nature. When a hundred people are killed by dropping a bomb, the killer may not repent for the act of killing; unless he has moral sentiments. Not only the killer, but also the silent spectators who are present when the killing takes place may lose their feelings. In such a situation, the practical environment of the law will be only struggle. Nirmalendu Gun said, ‘War means playing enemy with enemy’. The war-watcher is no less an enemy of humanity.

Therefore, instead of allocating the maximum amount of money from a country’s total budget to the military and roads, more should be allocated to the education sector. A meditation room next to every library, a prayer room in every hospital, a competition titled ‘Muktakantha and Research Paper’ in every upazila, a system of issuing department-based compulsory research papers in every university, etc., can completely relaunch the world of education through the full implementation of the rules and regulations. Then this country will create a golden period in global citizenship in the next few centuries.
